Handicap International (HI) is an international aid organisation specialized in the field of disability and development. A strong emphasis is placed on empowering people with disabilities through their integration into mainstream development activities and the provision of appropriate health and rehabilitation services to ensure equal opportunities for all. Handicap International (HI) has been working in Sri Lanka since mid 2004 and develops and implements projects to improve the quality of life of people with disability or injury and their families, in whatever context, promoting their active participation and social inclusion, developing partnerships at all levels, in the frame of the national policy on disability.

We are looking for a Logistic Manager based in Colombo who will be responsible for smooth material running of the programme and the correct management of its goods and assets, in compliance with Sri Lankan Laws, HI / Programme / donors' procurement policies, the association's rules on goods and assets management, and in such a way as to ensure the security of its human and material resources.

Specific objectives
    *Supervise the good management of the programme's premises (staff accommodation, offices, and storage facilities).
    *Supervise the good management of the programme procurement chain.
    *Supervise the good management of the programme staff travel and the base vehicle fleet.
    *Supervise the good management of the programme's technical equipment: IT equipment, telecommunications and energy.
    *Ensure the implementation of the security rules on the programme.
    *Manage his / her team.
    *Carry out the administrative and financial management in his / her area of activity.

Knowledge and skills:
    *Degree in any relevant field related with this position.
    *At least 4 years of experience on logistics issues relative to humanitarian and developing work, donor rules and procedures.
    *Established experience on procurement, customs formalities and transport procedures.
    *Established experience on stock management.
    *Relevant experience on IT / office automation.
    *Relevant knowledge on general principles of car mechanics.
    *Relevant knowledge and experience on functioning of telecommunications equipment.
    *Fluency in English, Singahlese and Tamil
    *Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    *Strong management skills, proactive and ability to multi task and prioritise even under stressful situations.
