The firm advises clients in the banking and finance industry as well as other clients seeking advice on finance matters. Pre-eminent in their chosen fields, the practitioners in the Banking and Finance group are widely recognised for several pioneering and innovative transactions in the domestic market including the first credit card securitisation, the first motor vehicle finance receivables securitisation, the sale of AIDC and the acquisition of Melbourne Airport from the Commonwealth Government (the first major airport privatisation in Australia).
 
Specifically, for this vacancy we are seeking candidates with:
 
Knowledge
•Basic understanding of all facets of lending to corporations particularly the structure of a transaction, documenting the transaction and closing the transaction.
•Basic understanding of all elements of securities and guarantees, such as mortgages, charges, title retention, trusts, due diligence, regulatory issues, stamp duty and tax issues and registration.
 
Skills
•Legal analytical and writing/drafting skills.
•Understanding of related legal practice areas, such as property, construction, sale and purchase of assets and shares, taxation and corporations law.
 
Experience
•Acted in basic corporate finance transactions through supporting Partners and Senior Associates.
•Taken responsibility for drafting basic finance documents, such as securities, condition precedent documents and ancillary documents.
 
An excellent remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, including a generous incentive scheme.
