Qualifications & Experience
· An honours degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equally relevant subject)
· At least 5 years of postgraduate experience involving database technology
· Experience in installation and maintain of Oracle systems on Unix/Linux Platforms (SUN Solaris/Enterprise Linux)
· Must have worked on 10g /11g databases , RAC systems, ASM, OEM, Flashback technologies, 10g/11g upgrades, Rolling patch upgrade
· Must have strong experience in resolving errors and failures and should be able to support remotely.
· Experience working with Systems Architects to pro-actively design and optimize databases and their underlying hardware and OS platforms to meet future capacity planning.
Skills
· Hands on experience in using tools or custom scripts to monitor the health of database.
· Write and maintain database documentations
· Experience in working effectively within a team
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Excellent organisational skills
· Flexibility toward travelling when required
Desirable Skills
· OCP 10g/11g
· Knowledge of Java based technologies
· Experience with high-capacity low-latency transactional use for real time applications
· Strong UNIX shell scripting preferred
· Knowledge of telecommunications network topologies.
· Strong awareness and interest in telecommunications
· Thorough experience of working according to a Quality Management System
· Proven ability to mentor developers in how to properly write stored procedures and Packages
