Handicap International (HI), is a French INGO specializing in the field of disability and development. HI has been working in since mid 2004 and develops and implements projects to improve the quality of life of people with disability or injury and their families, in whatever context, promoting their active participation and social inclusion, developing partnerships at all levels, in the frame of the national policy on disability. CAMID (Centre for Accessibility, Monitoring and Information of Disability) is a HI project focused on the field of disability and inclusion. A strong emphasis is placed on empower people with disabilities to access appropriate service which respect to their rights and providing consultancy on disability for stakeholders towards an inclusive society. Currently CAMID is working under HI but it will be registered as local organization in near future, then CAMID will function as an independent local organization.

We are looking for a Director for CAMID based in Batticaloa. Under the direct supervision of the HI including Project Manager till December 2010, the Director will be responsible for the development of the program, the sustainability of the CAMID and the overall management of the project. From January 2011 s/he will be responsible for the management of the CAMID independent organization covering Batticaloa and Trincomalee Districts.

Specific Objectives:
    *Lead the independence process (registration, policies designed...)
    *lead the fundraising activities (development of concept notes, proposals, reporting and donor relationship)
    *lead the project implementation especially in programming, planning, monitoring and evaluation
    *represent CAMID with the local authorities and other relevant stakeholders
    *manage the projects as well as the Human Resource and Finance departments
    *ensure proper communication and reporting

Knowledge and skills:
   1.post graduate diploma in business or social sciences or similar expertise from a recognized university or college
   2.minimum 5yrs of working experience in public relations, fundraising and project management within an I/NGO
   3.knowledge on human rights and social inclusion, knowledge on disability sector is an advantage
   4.proficient in computer literacy
   5.diplomatic and strong communication and interpersonal skills
   6.able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
   7.sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups
   8.fluency in English, Tamil and Sinhalese
   9.deep knowledge on HR management
