he Ceylon Electricity Board intends to obtain the service of Electrical Superintendents on contract basis for the implementation of Rural Electrification Project 4 (REP4) funded by the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA). It has been planned to complete the project within a period of two years. This project is being implemented under Provincial Officers of CEB namely Central. North Central, North Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva and Western. The Electrical Superintendents thus recruited will be employed at provincial offices and at the Project office in Colombo.

Applications are now invited for the above post from the citizens of Sri Lanka having following qualifications and experience.

No. of Positions:

It is intended to recruit 10 Electrical Superintendents on contract basis

Qualifications:

Applicants should have passed National Diploma in Technology (Electrical Engineering) of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Ceylon Electricity Board.

Experience

Applicants should have at least five years experience in the construction of Medium and Low Voltage Electricity Distribution Lines and Substations in rural areas. They should also have an experience in the selection of electricity distribution line routes, pegging of line routs according to a line peg schedule, planting of concrete poles, stringing of conductors, installation of distribution substations etc.

Age Limit

Applicants should be below 55 year of age

Professional Competencies:

   1. You should have knowledge on CEB standards regarding the construction of overhead lines and substations
   2. You should possess necessary communication skills to co-ordinate the project activities with the CEB provincial staff and other outside organizations and people.
   3. You should possess necessary computer literacy and progress reporting skills

Terms and Conditions of contract:

The appointment will be purely on contract basis for a period of two years. The period of contract may be extended further if CEB needs such services at the end of the specified contract period. If the performance of the selected candidate is found to be not satisfactory at any time the contract would be terminated by giving one month notice. A more comprehensive contract agreement will be signed at the time of acceptance of appointment.

Remunerations:

Salary is negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The employee’s contribution to the CEB Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is 10% of his salary while the Board’s contribution is 15% The Board’s contribution towards the Employees Trust Fund (ETF) is 3%.
